I've purchased and installed a Custom Auto Sound CD/Tape/AM-FM, in my 81 coupe. Mounted the 10 disc changer in the cargo hatch. Purchased through Rik's. I'm a bit disappointed in the quality, especially in the receiver. It was fairly expensive.
Does anyone else have one, and can you share your thoughts on it.

You are not the only one. I had one and it frustrated me so much after a year, I took it out and put it in the box where it gathers dust. I can't bring myself to sell it to someone else. Guess I am just stuck with it.

hankb,
I have one of their USA5 units and 6 disc changer. I am not happy with it at all. I think alexnelson (previous post) still fabricates units that repalce the bezel and he uses whatever head unit you want. Send him a note and mabey he can fix you up with a good unit.

It's cheap!!!!!!!!! I have the same thing in my 72. Even with new speakers still cracks and sounds bad, I cant turn the radio up loud enough to hear it over the wind noise and the chambered exhaust:) |frown|

Thanks for the tips. Like all of you, the intent was not to alter the bezel.
I'm having second thoughts. I may buy an aftermarket, and hack it up, so I can put in a 'real' unit.
Alex, tell me more about your bezel fab....
