Al,

NOS is unused but old as in back in the days whe the car rolled off the assembly.   You really have to see if the item you get from NOS will work or not.   Most I get work but I just keep extra just incase the item/s don't work.

New Old Stock is the term used to describe parts that are new, in original packaging, but have been sitting somewhere for years. These are parts that would have been found on the shelves at the dealerships at the time of manufacter, but were not sold, for whatever reason. NOS parts should be in completely new condition, or with slight deterioration of plating/paint/etc. They should be fully functional. They will not normally be expected to be the exact same parts as installed at the factory, but what was available at the dealership.

Vette(s): 1980 Red T-Top with 42000 miles. No modifications and will probably stay that way.

Thanks for the info. . .

Take care. . . .
