I'm new to this but I have a 1979 corvette that I am working on which I saved from the salvage yard. I feel for you because before I could get the car off the trailer and into my garage the police was knocking on the door. My nosey neighbor called.

Its a sad state we now live in. Not so much about the car thing but there is little sense of community. People would rather hide in their little rat holes and call the cops vs. walking over, handing you a beer and asking about your project...and then, maybe, asking if you might cover it or? Ya know what I mean? More flies with honey. I left CA for NV many reasons but one was the sense of community is strong here. We're still small town. I know my neighbors and have keys to a few of their homes. We pass a lot of beer over the fence.....sorry for your hassles.
My Christmas present to ME! Bought Sat 11-30-2013. 72, 350 4 spd, Silver with blue interior...Can't you just hear Pablo Cruz playing in the background?

Maybe we should consider a "CruiseIn" at Indy's place. LOL That might add to the neighborhood excitement.
I'm fortunate with my neighbors. The guy next door is forever asking if he can help me with the vette. A great guy whose grandfather actually raced in the Indy 500 and several cross country's back in the early days of race cars. Some of his pictures are really cool. One guy has a really nice Nova setup for the track, one owns a pretty hot mustang, and one has a 2006 vette. There are two other C3s, a C4, a C6, and a 1955 swb pickup being restored all within two blocks of my house.

Ya its similar here. 2 69 chargers, a 69 convert. firebird, 70 cuda, 71 GTX, 65 Mustang fastback, some ratrod truck, couple of 60's rally cars, handful of jacked up rock crawlers all within a block in 3 directions. Tons dirt toys and street bikes. Many of the local sheriffs are hot rodders or off road guys. I bought a model A frame from a local Sheriff last year. I would not last in a city situation. I feel for those living within a "homeowners association".

I'm lucky as my neighbor hood is not a stranger to Corvettes. I have a '68 C3 and '98 C5; three houses up is a '67 C2 427 autoXer and '06 C6; two houses up from them is a new '14 C7 which replaced his '08 C6. It's a older neighborhood, so I think most are on hearing aids so that's a plus. While none of the vettes are in the drives or yards, there are motorhomes, trailors, and boats on the street from time to time. So I think we have a live and let live attitude.
We have a Neighborhood Watch Block Party annually where everyone can rub elbows with their neighbor. People walk and wave and take the time to say Hey!
Kinda takes me back to how people accepted and tolerated each other when I was growing up.
God Bless, rick
