Well gang...she's home and covered in the garage. Steve came down in his 2k Torch Hardtop and took me to get rid of the rental and take me down to the Chevy dealer. Then, we went for a little cruise up old Hwy 1, even got sprayed a tiny bit!, then stopped and had some people come and look at the cars while we were looking at the waves. Then we went back down to Ventura Harbor and had a nice fish lunch/dinner on the walk. After that, we went for a short walk along the harbor near the boats. Then we came back here and cleaner her up a bit (tons more to do! They don't know how to detail at all!) and covered her. I'll take pictures this weekend near Steve's pad and will post next week! I've just got too much going on right now to drive there just for pics. lol

Now for the problems that we've noticed so far....the brown stripe on the passenger side is way off and is not acceptable. There are 2 tiny little lines near/on the bonding strip area on my side where she was fixed. I'll be dropping her off next Tuesday for a few days. Can't wait to hear what the stripe guy says about that messed up gill area. His problem, not mine. I didn't put in on all "off" and with a bubble in it. Yikes! Did he think I wouldn't notice? Duh!

I'm so happy she's home with me again! |bouncy| |thumb| |cheers| |biggrin| |wavey|

Darla, when i picked my car two weeks ago, I asked about covering it and the guy who did my car said not to cover it as the paint need to breath and dry. also no wax, just liquid soap and water. check and see what they say. hope everything turns out OK!!!!! post some pics when you get the time |thumb|

Thanks you guys for all the support, it does help give me a bit more guts to go get 'em! |biggrin| I don't know how they'll fix the stripe that's way off on the gills, nor how they'll fix the spot just behind the drivers door, where they mounted up the new fender to the bonding strip. Any clues you guys on those fixes? I may have to live with the bonding strip "lines", but we'll see I guess.

Forgot to tell you that those folks down at Chevy DO NOT KNOW HOW TO DETAIL! |cussing| Put it this way you guys, my steering wheel has dust on it, and the glove box looks like the buildings around the WTC after the collapse! Dirty Dirty little Vette!

See you guys later, I'm going back out in the garage! |biggrin| (i'm so glad I can say that again!)

I'm sorry it did not come out right the first time. Stick to your guns and don't accept anything less than perfect.
