I was wondering if anyone could help me find a place to purchase some diecast or models of a 74 Corvette.
I have found many places for Corvettes but none for the 74 model year. Thanks,
Rodney

There are very few specific '74 cars out there.
There is a red, "Zora Signature Series" by Action, in 1:32nd scale. Usually around $20 if you can find them. There is one on E-bay right now, I think.
There are 2 "Promo" '74s, a red one, and an Orange one. Both of the promos sell for $200, on average. There is at least one of each color on E-bay now, too.
Other than that, you can find some plastic model kits from time to time. Some of these cost $20, some are way more.
I actually looked on E-bay earlier today, for something else, but I always check on the promos, and my other "searches" while I'm there. If you hurry, I think there is an orange, '74 promo auction almost over. Last I looked, it was at $81.
Nope...too late!
It just went!
You can look at it HERE
btw...I paid $200 for my '74 promo. It is the most expensive car in my collection of almost 2000!!!Adams' Apple 2007-01-21 20:02:02

Vette(s): My 1974 Vette sold last August 2014. I am still willing to show up to events and local gatherings if anything happening No new vette yet.
Joel is right. it is pretty hard to find a 74 vette model. I picked up two models unopened and still wrapped. one at a time of course. i hutned them down at swap meets. they arent cheap. i paid 435 dollars for one but it is limited edition model plus it was a 74 vette which only had 300 made total. so i know it will hold its value and grow. the other i paid 95 dollars for. i followed that one from ebay to the store it was being sold from and made them an offer . matchbox didnt make one. i talked to hot wheels and they said that a 74 vette will be coming out in three years and a limited amount will be produced as well.
good luck in your hunt. i always keep my eye out for them too.

Vette(s): Silver 1974 Convertible - L82 4 speed
Low miles (was only 8,900 when I bought it in March 2006) - Now 54K miles. Original owner bought it as an investment for son's college expenses.
2008 Jetstream Blue Convertible
As for the plastic models, I will agree, they can be found, but I know I bought one that said it was a 74 Convertible, but it really was not. It had a chrome front bumper and plastic rear. The rear did not have the split, and the fuel door showed an emblem.
I worked with it and cut a seam in the tail and sanded down the fuel door. All that said, the model itself was not very good quality and although it had been some time since I put together a model, I did my best was was still rather disapointed.
Yes, those of us who own 74s seem doomed to just admiring everyone else's!
I wanted a Corvette my whole life, but I never dreamed of all the wonderful people I would meet because of it!

you found a 1973 model thats why the front was a chrome bumper. if you guys look around check for the brand " MPC". I have two models made by them still in boxes and sealed, both 1974 models. thats the only brand i have seen that made them.

Actually, the '73 had a rubber front bumper cover, and a chrome rear! Nit-picky, yes?
I see '74 kits all the time. Most are "modified" types, with fat tires, and hood scoops. I do see stock kits too, tho.
