No, but a Diehard is a fairly common battery...nothing special other than good marketing. You'd do just as well with an Interstate (I know some folks like the Delco, but I've not ever had a good long-term relationship with Delco) Why not step up to an Optima or one of the other current technology batteries? They cost more, but deliver so much more as well.

Vette(s): 1979 Black coupe. 11256 original, documented, miles on it when I bought it in April of 2000. It now has 13100 on it. Oyster interior, like new. Everything original, everything works, except the clock. Paint has a couple of minor flaws.
I recently read an article about delco batteries, and they were rated very high on the quality, and durability lists. They have supposedly had some remarkable changes for the good in the last few years... I'll try to find it, so i can post it... |thumb|

You need a part number for a battery? Wow, I just thought you went out to a store and bought one. Didn't think you'd need to "order" one? When I was looking for a new one, Steve said get a Die Hard. So I did. The guy knew just what I needed. :) Steve and his whole family have been running them for years. One time, his grandmother left the light on inside the car and somehow did this alot, and the battery wouldn't hold a charge. The local store gave her a free one for the family being good customers! Hope he does that for me....do I need to do anything regarding the battery since Destiny hasn't been moved much in 3 months while in the shop?

Dar,
I didn't know that your vette had been sitting for 3 monthes. Boy, that would be hard to take. Almost like wintertime. I don't drive mine from Nov til Mar. |sad|

Hey Glen, the accident happened on March 30. They had some problems like finding a good door, and then we got held up when the other insurance company did not want to paint her nose, tail, head light doors, hood and passenger door. Can you see me trying to show her like that? Geeezzzz. So, a bunch of phone calls and letters to them "proving" that I do show her, etc. and finally got that handled. I'm down there twice a week and call in between that. From what I gather from friends at other dealers, everybody knows she's there and are expecting the best so that's what they're doing.....I JUST WISH THEY WOULD DO IT FASTER!

Dar,

I'm glad you are finally getting it fixed. The wheels of progress sometimes turn mighty slow. They must not be corvette powered.... |laugh| |laugh| |laugh|
