Hope this isn't a stupid question but i bought a 1969 coupe last october that had a body off restoration, great paint, but while cleaning it up this winter i found a section on the drivers side front fender where the plastic inner well meets the inside of the front fender. Theres a crack in the plastic about 6-8 inches long along the curve, the passanger side looks great and where the plastic meets the inner fiber glass there appears to be a body cork.
After looking through magazines i came up with part number 1492 at corvette america called Door lock pillar cover. Does this sound like the part i need and can it be changed easily without screwing up the body/paint?

That part # shows to be the front part of the REAR fender, where the door lock bolt goes...if I am reading your post right, you are looking for something on the FRONT fender area, no?
Perhaps you are looking for the Plenum Extension Panel???
Can you get a pic of the area in question?

No real harm done. You have a small piece broken off the inner fender skirt. Since it doesn't show and isn't critically structural, it would be one of the last things on my Fix-It list.

On the other hand, if that's a crack in the upper right corner of the pic, it's in the upper surround panel and should have some attention paid to it.

thanks mike, bought car last summer, been under, on top, everywhere on the car. Looks like a spotless car other than this sopt. The upper right corner is not a crack. What would be the best way to relpace or repair ?

I agree with Mike...doesn't look like a "gotta fix NOW' issue. More cosmetic than anything. Don't know that it would be much trouble to repair...might need to do a little research, It may be easier to replace.

Replacing the inner fender is a LOT of work. Assuming your inner fender is original fiberglass, You can easily make a mold in place to fill in the missing spot with fiberglass mat and resin. Be sure to recreate the 90 degree lip. Be sure to mask off the fender so you don't mold fiberglass onto two panels. Then fill the gap with bonding adhesive. It looks in the picture like the bond is broken below the missing piece, so be sure to chip away all loose banding adhesive and fix it all.
