For those of you who might be interested in reading a Vette-related article I wrote for my website, here's the web address. One thing though---don't try to cut and paste the address to use as a link---because Tripod blocks "hotlinking" to its pages from non-Tripod sites. You'll have to type the address into your web browser window to get there. The title is "Driving Miss Mary". Enjoy it, and tell me what ya think........

I feel the same way. I could just look at my car for hours with out end. I think the 1969 thru 1972 years of the 3rd generation are the best Corvettes ever built. I just love the beautiful lines these cars have not to mention the horsepower . My car gets alot of attention more then I even want. The view from the cockpit is like on other car in the world looking thru those high fenders. I believe the only mistake they made was putting an automatic transmision in them.

I catch myself staring at my vette too. The C3s are the greatest. I have to agree and say that I wish mine was a manual as well.

Scott - you hit the nail pretty solid.
"The Toy" turns heads where ever I go, the most surprising is the reaction from kids still several years away from getting their "ticket to drive". Zipping down a winding country road with the top dropped is about as close as I'll ever get to flying in an open cockpit airplane. Just can't wipe the grin off my face (and I don't have to pick any bugs from my teeth!)...!!!

Yes, the '68s to 72s are truly special cars. I wouldn't trade mine for a new C5. I'm sure there are many who dig the C5, but I think that the C5 is a sterile design compared to the C3. As far as the automatic's concerned---I believe that this was the stock version of the historic trans that Jim Hall ran in his great Chaparrals in the sixties. I was privileged to have seen these fine racecars at Bridgehampton. I'll tell ya what---aside from the "image" of the fur speeds---I love my TH400.

I just hope that within the next month, I'll have my baby back with me so that I can enjoy her again. The body shop is taking forever! lol But hey, I want it done right, and my way, so I don't mind!
