Vette(s): had a really nice one. sold it to a good friend. Purchased 2004 custom coupe in Feb. 2009 did not tell anyone here until August 2009. BAD I KNOW.
Okay so here are a couple of questions that I have been wanting to ask and have been waiting for someone esle to ask but know one does and I can wait any more:
1) since I have the LT-1 when buying parts some ask small block or big, I know that the 350 is a small block, but when I ordered my chambered exhaust system, it should have been the big block diameter. Is there a standard rule of thumb or something.  The second question is sometimes parts are listed with early or later year how do I know which one is mine, I believe it was dated march of 70 but the vin number is like with in the last 1500 produced. thanks for the help

The LT-1 should have the large exhaust, same as the big block.
If your car was built in March 1970, it would be considered a "Late" production. The strike in '69 caused a lot of problems with the '70 production run, so it can be confusing.
The '70 production run was shorter than normal, because DeLorean streched out the '69 model run to make up for the loss of production due to the strike.

As has been said before, the only stoopid question, is the one you don't ask!

couldn't have said it better myself.
Never wait for someone else to ask.
Do a quick search on the subject, and if you don't find a good answer, ask away.
And I love those LT1 engines.

Outside of the difference in the exhaust diameter, just about anything else (except for the big block hood) will be for a small block. There's likely some specific LT-1 parts, but they'll be meant for a small block, not a big block.

Yup. Most parts you will need will be small block. The only components that were the "same" as a big block was the exhaust on the high HP engines, and some of the brake components on the "special" cars(ZR-1).
Any engine related parts will be for a small block. There are some parts that will interchange, big/small block, tho. Like the distributor, for instance. It will fit either engine, but it will werk best in whatever one it is calibrated for. Some water pumps will interchange, also. The oil filters are the same. For your application, small block for everything.
