Yer rite Dwain I absoooolutely posted that in September of 09' ..... and in Novemember I lost my job after 32 years. (The 2nd time by the same company in a 2 year span..... lol)
However 3 months after leaving my former employer..... (Delta Faucet Company) I gained employment with a great company (Acro Engineering and Racing Componets) to which I am extremely happy!!!
We kinda shuffled some priorities around when this stuff happened. In doing this we retained Funfest because I had been working to set up the Days Inn Hotel as a C3VR mainstay for Funfest 2010 and the 2011 Gathering.
I also wanted to help Butch & Jani with the Midwest October Cruise In at Vevay, In. this year. Thats is why no Carlisle ..... an no Eureka Springs.... call me ol' fashion but I weren't quite ready to start spendin me retirement savings just yet.
All that being said I think we are back on track and have resumed planning for future Corvette Events.....
See..... I really did wanna see yer smilin face......
Can ya ever fergive this ol' country boy?
Longhorn.....any update on the engine rebuild. Hope the guy is on schedule.
Not really. The block's been align bored and waiting on the pistons from Mahle to bore it out. It was already at .040 over so instead of going to .060 we ordered some .045 over from Mahle. I think they had to make them. For $700 the suckers ought to be forged titanium! Supposed to be here this week as are the heads and cam. I guess I should have started a little earlier with all this but I think it will come together, I just might not have much time to do a couple of other things I was planning. It'll be a'ight.

Sorry to have dropped off guys. Work issues. I can tell you that there are always rooms available right after and all the way up to the day of the event.
I just found out that I may not be going over due to work issues. That's ok because I'm still waiting on a set of tranny cooler lines and am still having carb issues. It appears now that there is a stuck float or trash in the bowl of a brand new Edelbrock carb. If you turn left, uphill a bit and either flat or neg camber without your foot on the gas she just quits. Only to the left, only with foot off gas, only uphill slightly.
This is getting really frustrating. I am well below the miles per dollar spent on this $*&$%&#$( and am beginning to fail to see the humor in it. Everything from nose to tail driveline wise is brand new and I have learned an important lesson, brand new doesn't mean it will work, just means you paid a higher price for it...
I'll check with several folks I know that go over and post up some info on other hotel choices they use.
If it is your first time, I would recommend a B&B like the Treetops or some of the other ones. A bit pricey if you are on a budget, but really nice if you can/want to swing it. 71 Shark and I can recommend some of them as well.
Well I'm getting this thing ready to go. Flushed my radiator today. Probably change oil this weekend. I hope Dwain has got his ride back together. I can't leave OKC till Friday Morning, was hoping for Thursday but the wife can't get away till Friday Morning. Hope to see some folks over there. Sorry Dennis, I was planning on coming to the OKC meeting but had some stuff come up. I'll have to come and join next month.

Well,as much as I hate to say it, the motor is not going to be done in time to go.
We've really been looking forward to going and will miss being there. Seems the builder dragged his feet too long and then got a gout attack.
Anyway, there's a room available if anyone was wanting to go. Just let me know and I'll call the motel. Maybe they'll give me my $100 deposit back!
It's at the 1876 Motel on the main drag within walking distance of the Pine Mountain Square where the car show will be and a lot of shops and restaurants all around. We had reserved one of the front rooms also. Quite the bummer but at least I'll be getting a good motor for once.
Our reservations were for next Thurs, Fri and Sat night. And I have no idea why this started typing in italics

I'm sure it will be...someday. However, I did refigure his bill on some lawnmower parts he got. Funny thing, it came out to nearly $100 more, almost what I lost on the reservation.

Our room is still available if anyone wants to go...sure wish we could.
