ok, so I found this car in town here...

ITs a 1977 Corvette L48.

The motor seems like a strong 350.. at least 300HP, the tranny shifts great. The gauges all work and function properly other than the clock.

The interior is fresh, and in decent shape. The paint is ok, driver condition paint, not show like.
The mirrors are interesting too they are the chrome ones but they are like a speeding bullet type.

It is a factory A/C car, Factory power steering, Factory power disc breaks, BRAND NEW tires and wheels. It seems like a great driver.

The CONS:

The paint is poor quality around trims, like the rear window and such areas

The chrome trim around the front window is a little dented in some spots, and the chrome has burned off from the sun in a few areas.

The weather stripping while new, was poorly put on

The power steering has a small leak near the actuator

The bushings are in decent shape but not perfect underneath

The dash pad is cracked in the usual spots (but what vette isn't, they put a special cover on)

The stereo does NOT function and the front speakers seem to be non existent
(but if I were to put a  new stereo in, I would NOT use the front speakers as they are a pain to do)

The door locks DO NOT FUNCTION, the drivers side works if you play with it (they claim they will fix it for me next week when the guy gets back from costa rica
(b/c I dont wanna mess with them - I can try)  )

The t-tops are missing their head liner padding

the a/c does not function, its actually missing the compressor and hoses and such. but the vents are all there (but what vette's a/c ever did work)

The rear tail lights were bubble tail lights from ecklers (but the owner said he would replace the rear tails and make sure that the car's reverse lights all function as stock)

The front head lights came on, but the vacuum did NOT pop the lights open
(the owner said he would have them fixed at his cost included in my sales price)

Other than that the car seems to be in better shape than that white one I saw.

It looks like a hood rich car some ways, but sportish in others...

The sales price is $7,500... They originally had it up for 10,500$

The dude is moving to costa rica cuz he has health issues, and hes been selling corvette's since he was my age he said. His partner of 25 years in the business is helping him finish off the car sales and house sales that they flip before he moves..

The car has a OHIO title, and Underneath appeared to have no rust, but its going to a mechanic to fix the lights so ill see i on the lift tomorrow i hope.

what do u think?

As long as the frame is in good shape , the car looks really good for the price. If he fixes the headlights, I would say go for it! Got a thing for '77's, don't you?

Why not put the $7,500 into the one you already have?

Well guys...

As with most people now a days, money is super tight. I settled on my workmans comp issue, and while I do have better things I can do with my short amount of money, I would like to buy another vette or mustang to enjoy. THe other Vette of mine wont be done any time soon, I totally doubt that very much so. I dropped off a lot of pieces to be installed, and they were supposed to get to it when they can. well, its been a month and NOT ONE part is on the car extra I brought int, the t tops and front end need to repainted as you guys can see due to some ripples and fiberglass streching I did not approve of. I am still waiting on that. I put too much $$$ in this car as it is, I don't wanna soak another $7,500 into this car. I would like to finish for under 6K.

I want another car to enjoy during the mean time other than my new and less crude 400HP NOS fueled Chrysler 300C 5.7L hemi...

I am trying to find a job now I am off, get out of my parents house buy my own house, finish the bad boy vette, and try to enjoy my life. But I need a new car to play with to enjoy my life. Its sad.. 7 years and I drove that vette once. And I don't know how I am gonna feel driving it now!? I would like a 65 or 66 mustang, just to have something different, but I know vettes and I am a vette guy through and through.. but I am a huge car buff.. IDK, I wish things had turned out different.

:(

Yeah, hang in there and see if hee calls again. Maybe you can buy it on the cheap. Doubtful if many others have the dough to buy a Corvette right now.

Louis, don' t lose focus on this one.   My guess is it would make you happy to just cruise around until the other one is finished, then you could sell this one and recoupe some cash.   If he wants to deal, it just may work out.
