Congrats on your run of good luck. I dont mean to burst your bubble, I know $2,000.00 is a great price for a Vette. I found mine a 76 Stingray in running condition for $1,200.00. It's driveable but I feel to be safe I need to bring it up to par. I'm currently working on it, still once and a while I'll take her out for a spin. I wish you the best of luck on your new best friend. Andy

Thank you all for the kind words! Nowhere near the first car I have had a hand in restoring, but the first Vette I ever turned wrenches on. I was actually a little shocked when putting her on the trailer for the trip home, looked under the rear to hook up the strap and went, "What the Bleep?!"
Amazingly enough, I found it on the internet at a litle car dealership in Vegas. I was looking for a Firebird or Trans Am, but just couldn't resist the Vette at that price! And now, i'm very glad I couldn't!!!
And Ron, that 77 looks good with the side pipes! Only question I have about it, towards the end of the side pipe it looks like it comes down and away from the car, is this is an optical illusion or is it supposed to do that?

HI Davii, I,m assuming that your a Marine/X-Marine.I to am a X-Marine and once stationed at 29 Palms (77/79).There wasn't much there in town back then , has it changed much?, I said to myself the day I left that I never wanted to return but over the years I always wondered what it might look like today. There use to be a little Mexican joint called Armando's wondering if that was still there?.......anyway...good luck with your new toy and enjoy yours as much as your new friends in this forum enjoy theirs. I also have a 80 blk/blk that I have a blast with. Can't wait for this F#$King snow to melt in CT.

Hey Tom! Yes, i'm a Marine stationed here in the Stumps. And like you, the first time I left here I sweared I would never be back, but alas, here I am. It probably hasn't changed all that much, it's still a little dump! There is a Denny's now though. Yucca Valley has grown quite a bit and is actually a great spot to buy a house. There's a LOT of former and present military here. Armandos is no longer here. Chat with you soon.

Good Job, Davii. i was also incredibily pleased when I finally realized that I bought a real car and not just transportation. A deuce and a half is freaking transportation.
Yeah, and I told my wife I only paid $4,000.00 for my vette. HAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Good luck with the rest of your service, and when you return home, look me up. How about we go visit Don Kellner at the Hazleton airport, and take that jump?
