Ken - There was a vacuum line that went to the old distributor from the carb or manafold (can't remember, have to go look at it). It's been timed....at 5 or 8 (can't remember that either...CRS) and that's reciently. I know I need to go look, but can't. If my husband catches me, I'm in trouble (he thinks I will hurt myself ) I can do that without being near a car! I'll check in the morning. One time my carb was loose, bolts not tight enough and it ran bad. Maybe it has something to do with that vacuum line that is plugged. Thanks for helping & being so patient! I'm all booked up with drawing gigs this weekend. Drew Dr.'s today at Baylor in Garland.

Joel - If we haven't figured this out by next week, I might just see ya next week, but you have to let me take you to lunch for the training lesson! I'ld make Ken go too, but he's all the way up there in Ohio. Hey, I have to head up to Ohio from PF, TN.....Columbus.

It's only a little over 500  mi from PF to my place.  But I think you should come here first.  That way the car will run good at PF.

Here that Joel?  Your entire caravan is going to PF via Cuyahoga Falls Oh.  That's even if you fix the car first.   And that's okay if you do.   That leaves more time for chow and chat when all of you are here!

Ken,

Get your butt off the 'pooter and make that '75 run and drive. If anyone can do it, you can... we don't care about no stinkin' paint. With damn near 4000 posts in 2+ years you NEED to come to PF,TN in a coupla months. You are a huge part of this forum and your presence is demanded!!!!

Thanks for all the help!  Gas milage should be better too!

Ken, if your not at PF, we'll come see ya in Ohio (need an excuse to get away from the Mother & Father-In-Law).

Oh but my 75 does run!  About a month and a 1/2 ago I WHUPPED a 91 Z-28!  From 65 to 110 mph I totaled 5 car lengths on him.  I didn't know him before, but later talked to him.  He said he never expected to get trashed.  It's by no means the fastest Vette, but it's much better than it was.

I worked on the brakes first.  It had none.  Then new tires, they were garbage.  Next was rebuilding the q-jet. I installed enought lights to make it legal.  I'll do them all when it has paint on it.  Then it was on to the engine.  I don't know when it will show up yet, but the engine work will be "Backyard Budget Buildup" in Corvette Enthusist Magazine.  Next is the front suspension.  The control arm bushings are shot, but I'm going to replace all front bushings, ball joints, tie rods, idler arm, the whole works.  That will happen when the weather is a bit better.  I do all the work in my gravel driveway, no garage.  And being in Ohio, I just don't care to work in snow.  Had about an inch of that stuff this morning.

If I don't make it to PF I'll be looking for you in Ohio!

Well Ken...

Sounds like the engine is fine if you dusted a Z-28, even a '91.... I sure don't envy you doing all that under-car crap in a gravel driveway, you gotta be one tuff ole sumbich to tackle that. Sure glad I moved outa Cinti to Nashville where snow is rare. Cleveland is a lot worse.

Get that ratrod to PF, paint or no... We can race the NASCARTS there. The lightweight babes will have a definite advantage on us though...

Dave

I even put the new crankshaft in with the car on ramps and the engine in the car.  Not the easiest way.  But it's in there.

I've done that before, on a gravel driveway to boot, but it was in a 1957 Ford in 1963!!!

Like I said..... tuff ol' sumbich!!!

Yuck!  It needed an overhaul and still does, so I stuck in a box and stored it.
