Vette(s): 1975 Orange Flame . I have owned car for 20 years now . Had 44000 miles when I first bought now just about to hit 60000. Had new motor built in 2012 upped hp to around 350 . New paint and front and rear fiberglass bumpers also 2012 .
Went to track with car for very first time . Have been curious to see what times I would pull after doing all the upgrades to my car .
First pass was a 14.17  next 14.24 and 14.26 . All passes at 97 miles per hr
Anyone else have numbers for 350 motor aprox 350 hp to compare my results.

Do you have your reaction time/ 60 ft. time/ 1/8th mile time printed on the time slip?

When I had the old 330 hp. crate engine in my car, I it ran the local 1/8th mile. It ran in the 8's.

I do have some more info from slips . First run worst reaction 1.030 best ET 14.176 and 97.91mph no 60 ft or 1/8. Second run .911 reaction 2.152 60 ft and 14.245 ET and 97.27 mph .Third run .508 reaction 2.192 60 ft 14.264 ET and 97.19 mph .
Does seem odd worst reaction gave me best ET and MPH, best reaction gave me worst times and MPH

I bet your 60 ft. time if it was printed on the slip would have been the best out of the 3 runs.
If you practice on your launch and get your 60 ft. times down you just might just crack in the 13.99 area.
Corvettes are tough to launch with the IRS suspension. There is so much movement going on back there compared to a traditional straight axle, it takes a bit to get the car rolling forward after stabbing the gas.
I think your times are respectable all in all.

I agree with Sarge's comments.  Also, how "deep" you were staged on each run can effect both ET and MPH.  Racers will sometimes stage deep (to the point of turning out the top pre-stage light) in an attempt to improve reaction time when bracket racing, however, they also must realize that this may reduce their ET and MPH slightly based on the way the timing system works.  Pretty respectable times, however.  Can't wait to get mine together and try it out as well!  What a great way to spend an evening.

Thanks for the replys and hope with a few more trips to the track can get into the 13 second range . Times for guys I raced were 2.127 60 ft and 12.823 1/4 mile in new Cadillac and 2.303 60 ft and 13.290 in new Camaro . My 60ft were 2.152 and  2.192 . Not real sure but I think my 60 ft times were ok compared to the two others who ran quicker 1/4 mile times . Had better 60 ft than new Camaro but I believe he had more HP and passed me shortly after start .
