I haven't been to a dragstrip in quite a while. Can't wait to get the L82 running so I can get that bug out of my system again!!!!

I am glad to see that you can go below 14 sec with a almost-stock 1971LS5. I tend to believe that a 4 speed could do better with the same power plant. How much improvement do you think your carb brings from a standard quadrajet?

Vette(s): 1974 Black 454 Stingray coupe, turbo 400 tranny, barry grant 750 carb, hooker super competition headers, moves along!
according to another post on here about cfm for the right carb, you might want to look into going with a 750 holley. I installed a 750 barry grant and it made quite a difference. I forgot the equation but i figured it out, you use your cubic inches in the equation. I also called summit racing before I installed the carb, the highly suggested a 750, and also the barry grant. Just my 2 cents

Vette(s): 1977 stingray,65k miles, hugger orange and side pipes and sounds very nice
ok this is just my thoughts but putting a 750 holley on and a good tall air cleaner will make it better and i would replace the clutch with a good 3 finger pressure plate ,if you plan on racing it alot if not go with a good pressure plate it will help also !
and the times you are running are great times, like everybody eles told you it takes pratice and 14s are fast,my self ive been in the 9s but not with a vette ,i love speed and a great sounding cam
