Vette(s): 1982 corvette crossfire production numer C5101985. Color is silver and claret. All original numbers match. slight mods to crossfire for better efficiancy and power balanced and added fuel pressure assembly between throttle bodies,
So is this a good deal for these wheels and tires? with trim rings and center caps?

Corvette Ralley wheels, 15x8 with caps and rings. Comes with BFG T/A, (2) 265-50x15 and (2) 225-60x15 tires in good condition, $400.

they are about 100 miles from me. and I am considering making the trip this weekend.

thanks for your opinions

Not a very good pic to go by...
I would wanna know if the Derby hats(center caps) are metal, or plastic, and do they say "Chevrolet Motor Division", or if they are blank. Metal, w/"Chevrolet Motor Division" is original, and correct. Anything else is not, and therefore worth less $$$.
Is there any guarantee that the rims are straight?
Good, clean, straight rims, correct Derbys, and nice trim rings are definitely worth $400...

btw..the tires themselves add nothing to the value, imho, unless they are new.

(Thanks Joel - you beat me to it)

It all depends - if they are original wheels, caps and rings in decent condition, then maybe.  If they are repos and / or plastic, then probably not.

The tires are nothing special and they could be a number of years old and worthless and he might be using you to dispose of them.

I suggest you get familiar with the the quailty and prices of those offered for sale by our vendors on the left over here <-- before you make a decision.

Good luck

here's the other dumb question. the rims that came on my vette dont look anything like the rally ones. would they even fit properly on my 82? Im probibly better off just putting my stock ones back on I just dont want to screw them up they are in really good shape
all 4 look just like the one pictured except one center cap is yellow not silver

That's what I'm running on my 79. Those wheels look GREAT! Why wouldn't you want to use them? Caps are available from any of the Corvette places and not very expensive. Remember, you have to get the special lug nuts that go with the cast aluminum wheels. In my experience, they are not available except through Corvette retailers. Polished up, you can't beat them for looks! Plus, if something does happen to them (like hitting a curb LOL ) replacements are available through the Corvette retailers. The best thing is you already own them!

If they are Corvette Rally rims, they will fit, no problem. The same style rims were also used on other cars, like the Camaro...even Impalla. Need to check the code on them. You'll find the code stamped next to the hole for the valve stem.

I found a set of Boyds 16x8 centerline wing looking wheels on my local craigslist the guy wants 100.00 for them. I just dont know if they would work.
they are multi holes (not just 5) how would I find out if they would fit the 82? or would going 16's be to big for the car?
I plan on getting new tires so the ones that are on them dont matter.

the listing says they came off a toyota truck with minor damage to one wheel but he says it does not affect the wheel.

I really want to hang off on putting my stock rims back on it unless I have not choice.

Thanks for your imput
