Vette(s): 1972 conv, 4-speed, 350, 200hp, numbers match, rally wheels, war bonnett yellow w/white top. good condition, nice driver.
HELP, HELP, I found a C3 in a barn/garage. It is a 76'. UN-molested for the most part. Needs paint BAD. Saddle tan/dark brown  L48, delux interior,Ts,needs rear bumper, which is included. New battery, starts right up, runs well, no puffs. Auto, 350.  The guy said,"It is going to sell".  Last inspected in June/06. It appears to be in good condition. Tires are great, not flat, engine is not dirty/oily. Cannot see under it,  ANYBODY have an idea what it might be worth?  THANKS.

Vette(s): 1981 - 59 Beige over Cinnebar leather. Edlebrock top end, 2200 stall w/shift kit, 3:55s, Mufflex maniback exhaust, nice stereo, 16 in AREs w/BFGs
I dont know if i'd call this a barn find, It was on the road 2 years ago.  76's are the orphan of the c3 series for some reason.  A 76 that needs work and paint sight unseen 3000-4500. Paint, maint, work and odds-n-ends are at least 6000.00

I really wouldn't go more than $6,000.00........unless you can't live without it...then go more. Good luck with it.

$3000-$4000 max, imho. Paint is gonna cost $3000 minimum, for a decent job. A first class '76, low miles, with lots of options, in great condition will only bring around $10,000-$15,000...
Offer $2500 and see if the guy gets insulted...he may think it's worth $20,000....and he'd be delusional!

That (1976) model used the Vega steering wheel. It also began the THM350 in the lower hp engines. It went to a steel floor pan.

Ahhhhh the 76......, 'ya know - they're not for just anyone. Only special people are permiited to own these rare cars; and I'm not talking just about those of us that may have gone to school on the little bus.

They're a great rubber bumper C3 for a bargain price and probably no worse than any of the other 74s-77s.

If you can get it for around 3-4K go for it - it's a bargain.

Good Luck!Thumbs%20Up

The latest 1968-1982 Market Guide in the October 2008 edition of Corvette Magazine has this for the MY 1976:

Show Ready: $19,000
Good : $14,500
Average: $9,800
Needs TLC: $6,000

Add $2,000 for L-82, $800 for A/C, $700 for alloy wheels

Those numbers seem high based on the responses above.
