Great Find!! This gives me more promise that the build sheet for my 81 is on the top of the tank!! I do not know of a good way to take the sticker off!!

[QUOTE=turbo78vair]Great find on your pacer. Were you able to see some of the sheet before you dropped the tank? Just curious as to whether you had a hint as to it's being there or just had to be sure.
Think I'd be in the camp of trying to capture it in photos and then leaving it in place.
I doubt it our sheet is still around on our 165k pacer.
Take care

After removing the mufflers and Y pipe I looked up there and noticed the corner of it on the front drivers side of the tank. I took a lot of pictures. Can't see how it would come off without tearing it. It belongs with the car anyway weather it's in a file folder or on the tank.
Gary, Ya never know. It stays pretty dry up there. Take the filler door off and pull the rubber overflow boot off to look around. Unless your tank was changed at some point.

Jeff that's great news on finding your build sheet!
When we restored our 77 I found one on top of the gas tank which I gingerly using a very sharp razor blade was able to remove is with little damage. I did take lots of up close and good pictures of it before I attempted to do it.
But when I was replacing the carpet I found two more build sheets and out of those two one was in perfect condition.
So who knows you might just find another!

I was changing the carpet on my '80 a few years ago and found a build sheet. The only problem is that it isn't for my car. It is in pretty good shape and if anyone knows the owner of VIN 1Z878AS408371, let me know. I would be happy to send it to them.

Some one must have had to change the tank out somewhere back
? I can see it hanging out on the wifes '78 but I hate to go there without a good reason. One of these days for sure
