Today I thought I'd have a look to see if my tank sticker was still there and surprisingly it was, unfortunately the years have not been kind and it practically fell apart as I retrieved it, however, I did manage to get some info off it.
The middle section of the sticker was badly affected but I managed to get some of the codes like:-
Axle code 03GS7AA
Rear spring 03G32EA
Push button AM/FM Radio 03U69AA
Optional rear axle ratio 03G81AB
Other codes were 03PT1AA, 03UA6AA, 03ZK5AP, 03F62HS, and mention of a convertible top, and tilt tele steering
Can anyone give me any clues? I think the G81AB denotes a 3.7 ratio? although it now has a 4.55 back end which will be changed for a 3.55 when I get around to it!
Some of the codes may be wrong as they were very difficult to read.
Many Thanks
Graham

Some of the info is incorrect...prolly hard to read, but:
Axle code 03GS7AA
Rear spring 03G32EA
Push button AM/FM Radio 03U69AA
Optional rear axle ratio 03G81AB
Other codes were 03PT1AA, 03UA6AA, 03ZK5AP, 03F62HS, and mention of a convertible top, and tilt tele steering
G81 is for the optional positrack diff.
PT1 is incorrect..it's prolly PT7, for the F-70-15 white line tires.
UA6 is for the alarm system.
F62 is the front spring code, the "HS" indicates a rate for a small block w/no AC.
The other codes need more research....

Graham - pretty cool when you find a 45+ old piece of paper !! +1 on Adam's comments, attached is a scan from the 1970 page of my old Corvette Black Book indicating option codes and other 1970 Corvette Facts, hope it helps.

in addition, here is a link to a website I've used for other technical specs. It shows the rear axle codes for 1970 which all appear to be three alpha codes. From that info, positraction became standard equipment on the 1970 Corvette. This three letter code may not be on the build sheet but it should be stamped into the bottom of the rear axle case just in front of the strut rod bracket. If your case is original it should show one of the three letter codes. No real guarantee of what is in the case now, but it may tell you what it came with from the factory.
Good luck and keep us posted as to what you find.

Thanks guys, I did a search but unless I was doing it wrong it didn't come up with any hits hence my question, I was quite thrilled when I looked and saw it sitting there all crumpled and dusty!
I think the AB attached to the optional axle ratio is for a 3.7 ratio, I have a new 3.55 gear set to go in when the weather is bad to replace the 4.55 which is fitted at present, somebody in the past obviously thought it would be fun but it's a right PITA on the open road!
The alarm tallies as that is still fitted but inoperative at present with lots of chopped wires!
Thanks Graham
Graham - the next time your underneath the car here's a shot of the rear axle numbers you are looking for. They are located on a flat section on the bottom of the rear end case, between the bracket that holds the rear spring and the bracket that mounts the rear strut rods. Probably full of rust, grease or both.

The codes for my '73 are as follows, your '70 should be similar.
AA = 3:55 gear ratio
W = Warren Mi. Plant
340 = 340th day of production (12/15/72)
E = Eaton positraction
1 = 1st shift
There are also casting dates on the back cover and main case of the rear end. If original, those dates should line up with the rear axle build date and the car's body build date. I can post pics of those casting dates and their locations if you wish. Good luck !!

Thanks John, I'd looked for them before but I think I was looking in the wrong place so didn't find them! I'll have another look next time I'm down there.

Great, hope you can find them next time you're under there. FYI, the front of the car is towards the bottom of the picture I posted. That section of curved bracket in the top left of the pic is the transverse rear spring bracket. Good luck and let us know what you find.
