I found out Monday how bad the frame is on my car. It has a hole in the frame just in front of the drivers door the size of a softball. Someone did a really good job of hiding it. They cleaned it up and fiberglassed it,then painted it.It was covered so good that it got by the guy who I had to check out the car. Anyway I took it to a corvette shop and they have a guy who dose a lot of their frame work look at it.He told me that he could section it and put strenghers in to make it stronger. The only thing is I have to wait till June before he can get it in.I don't blame the guy that looked at it when I brought the car because like I said it was done really well.I can still drive it but no hot rodding for me for awhile.
. On a good note I did get my brakes fixed.New pads(Oh had to replace the block on the frame)and new

lines to front wheels.

At least you found out before it turned into something worse Rick. It's part of the love affair with these old coupes. Find it, fix it, find it, fix it, etc.
Enjoy your car - it's a beauty!!

And the good thing is you can get it repaired. $$$ has a way of curing things like that. Bad thing is you should have been made aware of the deception.
Good luck with the repair Rick it is a beautifull car and this is just a speedbump in the road!Tuxblacray 2009-03-13 04:59:13

In the past I had a C2 that when I located frame damage I sold the car, (I also revelaed the damage to the new owner). I have since learned that frame repair is possible and in short if you enjoy your car have the repairs done and "keep it". Something I wish I had done...

I agree! that is one sweet ride, nothin snaped, no one was hurt, it can be fixed and be as strong as ever. That ride is so happy you found her damage and are taking care of it the right way not like her previous LOOSER owner did.
Good for you Rick your the man!

Cheer up Rick, it's gonna be ok.................just be careful with her till it's time to get her in the shop for the "fix." She's a beauty and a keeper. Hang in there we all know how it goes!
BTW, the creep that hid this problem will get a "pay back" twice as bad.........I feel it in my bones.
The only bad thing is you probably won't get to witness the pay back.......
