Hi Gang, Well project interior revamp is not going as well as expected.Wrong parts hard to find parts, really expensive parts, unepected parts breakage.....need I go on? I figued with the rain this weekend I just might get my vette drivable for what is left of the summer before winter sets in, but as the vintage vette gremlins converge on my humble garage here in the woods, I run into another setback, the heater core blues. I fired up the new stereo that I spent months of planning and contless cursing sessions on with the engine running to check the voltage drop if any and the a/c system ( by the way isn't the compressor suppose to be on in de ice mode?) . Well the fog of despair came when I went to start it up to put it away.I told my wife I'm ready to can this project for this year and she said I'd better finnish because she can't stand to see my long face everytime we stop at a local cruise night with my son. So........ Paul, I'm bound and determined to drive my corvette to the BBQ. You can count me in. Bill P.S. I'll have he 69 factory side pipes on, hope the neighbors don't mind the noise or the music.

Hang in there, Bill! It can certainly be frustrating working on our old classics, but....in the end, it's ALL worth it! The satisfaction of a job well done, the accolades, the "Hey mister...cool car"s.....ahhhh...
And yes...the A/C compressor should kick in when in De-ice/defog mode...

Man, let me tell ya Bill that describes me, and I'm sure many others to a T. In doing my 71 resto I don't know how many times I'd say," if I break one more thing, I'm done!!!!"

"If they send me one more wrong part, I quit!!"

"I got this crap scattered all over my shop, an I'll never have time to put it back together!!"

Hang in there Bud. Like Joel says in the long run it'll be worth it. Ya can come in here and vent anytime Bro. I know I sure did.

Oh another thing. I was crusin the other day an my heater core let go. So, "THAT'S IT, I'M SELLING THE STUPID OLE PIECE-O-CRAP!!"

Man, I've felt like that more than once with both of them.
If one's broke down, the other one will be next.
Well, we all know what GMC stands for, "Got a Mechanic Comin'."

Boy, don't we all know the feeling of utter frustration these cars can bring! But just hang in there and you'll have the satisfaction of driving a classic and the admiration of your peers ( we all KNOW how hard it is ). Remember, you have a car that is over 30 years old! How many other cars do you see on the road that old? Not many, I bet! Hang in there!

Barry

I have a 2 year project that is now going into year 5
It's not the journey it's the finality that I look forward to. I see some light at the end of the tunnel but I swear I'm going blind at the same time. You will get it done some how.

I feel your pain brother, I finished the transmission conversion and before I could get it out and about it developed a electrical gremlin. I have ground wires that are hot, A/C wont kick on, wipers wont work. I havent the heart to work on it. I took it to my mechanic handed him the keys and said call me when it's fixed.
