I'm curious about the G92 option - Performance Axle Ratio - that is mentioned in the Black book. This is/was rumored to be an option that was available on the 4 - speed & California Emmission equipped cars. My car is such a car and according to the Black Book this was a $20.00 option appearing on only 2400 cars. I'm thinking of changing out my ring & pinion, but if my car is one of the 2400 "rare option" cars I may reconsider. Does anyone have any solid info on this option and how to if my car may have this option-(short of dropping my fuel tank and getting my build sheet) Thanks, ZAL81

ZAL81,
I would think that 2400 out of 40.606 Corvettes produced in '81 would be pretty unique. At the very least keep all the parts in case you ever sell it!
I would also suggest that you visit the L-81 Registry website. It is everything you wanted to know about the '81 model Corvette....

Vette(s): 1978 INDY PACE CAR #3016 of #6502 built. Has original Pace car decals still in GM boxes the way it was delivered to GM dealers. per NCRS "UPDATE" Decals applied as of 3/8/02 (ALL ORIGINAL)
ZAL81, I also have a NCRS guide for that year, and I would have to agree with Tom over at the L81VR and say that if you don't have axle codes (OJ)or(OK) stamped on your differential carrier housing, you can probably say that it is a G92 option.
