This may or may not belong in general discussion, but here goes. For those of you who are like me and just hate to hit a gear at around 6 grand or so and have to watch your gauges bounce around, I just found a spot ( thanks to this month's issue of VETTE ) that immediately caught my attention. Now all I have to do is hit the lottery. As they say on the internet walls, for a good time , go check out this address
http://www.dakotadigital.com/Detail.cfm?Category=53&PartNumber=STR6D-68C-VETTE ( the prime hit is dakotadigital.com ).
Hope you enjoy it....someone out there is finally thinking about us.

Somehow I just KNEW you would check out that site ! They would be purrrrrfect for you. Let me know how it goes installing them cause they just may be in my future, the wife says to go for it but a grand plus the bezel ( I think I would send them a new one and just remove the old one with the gauges attached for a later install ) is a lot to swallow. |/QUOTE|
Well of course I checked the site out!!! ALWAYS looking for ideas to make ''Rosie'' more ''personalized''!!
I did bookmark the site and showed it to Hubby.....He just laughed!!! Said ''you better make up your mind''!!
I DO like the ''blue''...would really go good with all the black!!!
Since Hubby is gonna be the one installing the ''sound'' system I do need to decide what color for all the blinking/flashing ''light show'' that eventually will be ''on display'' inside the car!

Anyone see any other cool gauges for our cars? Mine are quite shot, and have to re-do them, and now I'm looking for a new distributor, so I need to either find one with a tach-drive ($$$!) or get the one I want, and find a new tachometer for it. So any other neat gauges for us? I want to do the whole set, and that dakota set looks pretty nice!
I also found these... http://www.intellitronix.com/digfact.html Anyone know anything about them?

That Intellitronics unit almost sells itself on price alone. Looking at the picture, it appears that it comes assembled and replaces the stock bezel. If it does not replace the bezel, then a lot of holes have to be drilled to mount the gauges. I also kinda like the idea of an oil temp gauge. The Dakota does not have that. The Dakota also appears to mount from the rear of the bezel like the stock gauges. Either seems to be an interesting choice but both will have to wait till I recoup the money I am spending for my engine.

I should just get my suspension raised, get tires like bcliff had on the front of his and call it a "Jeevette"
Think people would pay to ride?

Scot,
It's all in the presentation. If you can convince them they NEED to pay you for a ride, they will. You have a great ride selling point now. How many one doored Vettes are running around out there? I am sure someone would pay to go for a ride and watch you take a hard left and drag you knee while cornering like the bike riders do
Good luck finding a GOOD inexpensive door. There has to be one out there somewhere.

Glenn,
Yeah I agree, the Intellitronics unit is half the price of the Dakota! I would really like to see how visible they are in bright florida sunshine with the top down though. I've heard good things about the Dakota unit as far as visibility goes. Hmm, I'll send an email to the Intellitronics people, hopefully they can answer some of our questions. Some neat features are in that unit too, like remembering your fastest 0-60, highest MPH (not good!) 1/4 mile ET. I wish it told you the MPG, that would be sweet. Maybe they can custom fit that there instead of one of the existing gauges.
Ooh, they also black out when the power is off. That'd look nice in a black interior
