God I hate it when people do stuff like this to a Pace Car, that maybe a nice engine but it doesn't belong in a Pacer And why in the world would you put those wheels on there
I think the 78 Pace Car should be left alone, whats ya'll's opinions?
And what the hell is a Blue Plate Special, I mean Car Oh by the way he's selling it for a friend

It's not what I'd do either Mark, but, it looks like a pretty clean hot-rod job has been done on it. Down the road your car will have a much greater value. That's the beauty of keeping them stock. I never have liked those rims either. They don't look that great on any car.

But I also respect and love modified vehicles. The yenko fenders & hood are a nice trick on this modified vette. Under the hood whew looks to be done nicely. Although the late model wheels don't get it for me they did stay with a vette theme.
For me it would have to have depended on the cars history. If it was a brought back from the dead car then the car fits the right to modify mold I have used.
At least it isn't a mess, it looks to have been cared for and done up right. For less than $10K this would make a sweet 1st vette!

Mark,
I think the "blue plate special" refers to the original license plate.
I'm not familiar with the blue plate but when I sold my 66, I kept the original California "black plate", put it on ebay and sold it for $103.
I agree this ruins the *tradtional* look of the car....But on the other hand it is very clean, and it would sure be a "head-turner". I also agree with Tuxblacray that if this were to sell under (which I highly doubt) 10k it would be a great buy.

Hey Mark, thanks for posting that.......interesting......not bad for the right price!
If I bought a pace car, it would have to be sweet, like your ride!

As far as being "rare, collectible"...there were over 6000 Pacers made. Not exactly rare. Collectable? Not anymore. Unless the car comes with the orig. engine, and everything else, it's just a Pacer with a big block. At $8000, it would be a decent buy, for a driver. As a Pacer, it has lost most of the value.

Thanks Mick
I agree Joel that car is far from a collectable, they can be found "A Dime A Dozen" on eBay. A 78 Pacer w 150 original miles can even be had for under 30k, but these 150 mile car have sat in garages and not driven which = being enjoyed

Nice mods but have to agree that I wouldn't have done this to a Pacer.
I had an 100th anniversary HD Electra Glide an it was worth more original after I bought it than any of the mods I have seen people do to them. Same goes for cars. I have a couple of friends here with Aussie '60/'70s GT Ford Falcons and even the restored ones aren't worth as much as purely originals.
