Just curious what the current prices are for a 1971 454 LS5 Coupe? I've found one that has the original motor, 4speed, with all options. But it's been sitting since '86. Average repaint about 5 years ago. Some minor body damage at the nose. No documentation.
Any idea what it's worth?
Also, can someone with a Corvette black book send me the correct numbers for the tranny, alternator, radiator, etc... for a '71 454 Coupe? Much appreciated! I've got a black book on order.

Vette(s): 1974 Black 454 Stingray coupe, turbo 400 tranny, barry grant 750 carb, hooker super competition headers, moves along!
average condition, without air and no documentation, more than likely in the mid teens depending on miles, original equipment, etc.

Check out the May issue of Vette magazine. There is a price guide in there for all years.
Also check out the NADA's site (NADAguides.com) for 'Classic Cars' pricing. Either the 'Sports Cars' or 'Muscle Cars' link will get you the same results.

This car sound like it may be rough. Does it run? if so well? is everythign there. I tihnk if it is ready fro a restoration about 2-8k would be a deal. Corvettes are unique in this respect.

Join the NCRS (30 bucks) Get the Technical Information Manual/Judging Guide for the year(s) you are interested in. Also get the '68-82 Restoration Guide by Richard Prince, and the Fact Book by Dobbins. About $100 well spent. Read them cover to cover, back and forth. I don't think the Black Book gets the job done.
These books deal mainly with configuration and components. There are also buyer's guides that will cover trouble spots to look for-rust, body repairs, etc. One of these would be good too.
