Last couple of nights been spent working on the Vette for a 100 mile drive this weekend to the Mid Missouri Corvette Club show. So I  had the seeats out to try and fix a leaning problem , they both lean to the center. Got that pretty much take care of on Tuesday night. Pop another cold one and tackle the new shocks I got last winter. Change out the the passenger side no problem,,bed time. Last night figure I'll install the new Rapid Fire plugs, cap and rotor then back the car into the garage and work on the other side. Even plugs went in great, plug wires measured about 6-7K ohms ( Thanks Sarge) life is good. Go to the odd side plugs, a little more trouble here with all the stuff in the way alternator, brake booster etc. 1 and 3 are easy, plug wires getting high in resistance ( time to replace later) took out 5 and went to check for resisitance and the SOB is broken at the plug connection end. Don't know if I did it or it was about to go. As you all may know I'm trying to keep the car as original as I can, so I go looking for new BB braided replacement wires. Found some but I may not have them by tomorrow to install. So now I have to make a decision. do I go and buy some cheapo's to get me there and back or not go. I may beg a neighbor that has a 66 coupe BB if I can borrow # 5 wire, but that leaves him out of a car. Sometimes you just gotta wonder, who did I piss off this time? Sorry for the length, but just had to vent!!

Why don't you go to the auto parts store to the HELP parts section and get  a new wire terminal, crimp tool and crimp on a replacement.  You can slide the orignal boot over the terminal.

A fellow Vette nut has a 69' in the resto process and he will lend me the #5 wire for the weekend because he is going as well and wants me to go as well. Even got me a hotel room. I will get it from him tonight.

On the seats issue. The probelm I believe is the that the PO replaced the seat foam and got the backs swapped when he put them back to gether because when I would change the driver for the passenger seat the were perfect. Problem was the, the hook for the shoulder belt was on the wrong side. So went to the local hardware store and sorry to say I had to Bubba a fix. I added some rubber the the seat bottom stops and then put a nylon spacer under each bolt on the inner (console) side. They are not perfect, but much better at least.

Thanks Matt, went to the local NAPA store and $.30 later I got a usable wire for the trip. Now If I can get the timing and carb figured out I'll be in fat city. Going on the trip.
