Gib makes a good point when talking about the turn by turn voice directions. That is very helpfull during city driving.
One thing I did notice about mine 1 day was that it did not know a street was 1 way. Fortunitly I did and it was no problem.
I also like the Favorites feature which lets you store destinations that you frequent.

Low miles (was only 8,900 when I bought it in March 2006) - Now 54K miles. Original owner bought it as an investment for son's college expenses.

Tip - When using your wife's GPS in a bad neighborhood of Chicago and trying to get out, make sure she didn't turn on the feature tries to keep you off the Interstate as opposed to the mode that keeps you ON it!!!
I wanted a Corvette my whole life, but I never dreamed of all the wonderful people I would meet because of it!

Wife bought me a hand held -Tom Tom XL - Dash or window mount - plus you can carry it with you
Tried it out last week - It is Great -Voice and screen markings well before turns - shows MPH and local speed limits and tells you when your speeding . Time to destination - all the nice things - plus where gas/restraurants,hospitals, airports -etc are located and a quick tap on the screen tell you how to get there
Much better than my Garmin and my Wife's Volvo installed unit - She bought it on QVC(where else) - Great product and a good price - -battery last about six hours before recharging from car, elec, or computer . Free upgrades available from their Web site

I just bought the Garmin Nuvi 750. $200.00 at Costco........same price at Sam's Club. I really like it..........it tells you where all the hookers hang out!

We bought a Garmin Nuvi 350 for the road trip to Pigeon Forge. It performed well. We do use it quite often. Even for finding places nearby that we aren't quite sure of where they are. You do have to pay for the updates though. We update ours every couple years.
The only complaint is that when you get into the mountains sometimes the signal gets blocked if the satellite is on the otherside of the mountain. But I guess that would occur with other units too.
Like others have said, Garmin rocks.... Bought mine to use while traveling out of town in car rentals and on vacations. I own the 350 model. I selected this one because it tells the name of the street you will be turning on as well as indicating the approaching turn.
One downside is it frequently falls off the windshield during the trip.

I have a garmin nuvi 260w and used it last weekend to find restaurants, golf courses, a kinkos, and to get to several addresses. I was amazed at what this thing could do. It not only finds a place it will give their phone number and turn by turn spoken directions. It also gives you the time to your exit and total distance to your destination and what exit is coming up next and speed and on and on and on, it was great. No need to stop at gas station and ask where do i go from here. Anyway I dont work for garmin am just impressed with their product
