I had that same thing happen on a '67 283 in one of my big trucks years ago...just plain nasty!

Can you believe I drove the thing 5 miles home with the crank busted?
They left half of # 4 bearing out at the factory... and warrenteed it with a new ZZ-4 short block after 8 years...
