My how things have changed. I remember when power windows were a luxury item found in Cadillacs or other spendy cars. I think I was 22 before my parents had one with power windows...and more like 32 for my own car. I had to show my kids (11 and 13) how to use a window crank in the vette. Been driving it to work a few days and dropping off at school on the way. They think the crank is fun. Love it!

Point them toward a rotary phone and ask them to describe a record album.

show them a music cassette and a pencil with an eraser and ask them how are they related.
I was forever rewinding the tape cassette with the pencil in my younger years. Gawd I'm getting old.

They do know about those things just recently..... for the cassette...it was on some TV show. I still spin albums on my Techniques turn table once in a while. They were also confounded by the vettes manual door locks.

Oh we could have a lot of fun with this thread. But then again it could be a bad reminder of we are getting old.

My youngest grandson's first question was about the window crank, What's That he said. We had a good chuckle on that one.

When my kids were little I used to let them play in my 57 BelAir in the garage while I worked on it or some other car. They used to pretend be driving and all that. They might be occupied for a couple hours. I miss those days....Now they are young teenagers but still ask, daddy, when will you finish the brown car? They've never seen it run.

Vette(s): 1982 C3 Collectors Edition 44000 miles, sat in the sun most of its life, My wife purchased it for me for Father's Day in 2007 from her girlfriend that had it for 19 years. It is on the road again. I'm retired but it is now my daily driver.
Kids are great and fun to watch. My
granddaughter is seven and is a little thing weighs all of 65 pounds.
She love the little car as she calls the corvette because she gets to sit in the front seat an tune the radio and run the windows
up and down.
She will spend time out with me when I'm working on it. The car needs a paint job
so I let her do things that I would never let her do once it is painted. I let her climb all over it. Up and
out of the top down the windshield sliding down the front.
The other day She said something like - when you get this
painted grandpa I can't do this anymore.
I don't think you should paint it.
It looks good now - .
Kids are cool and grand-kids are cooler.
