glenns speaks words of wisdom, there are restricition to consider when applying for cheaper insurance. mileage, location, and how much you use your vette are all factored to determine your monthly premium. the cheaper the premium the less they want you to drive your vette.
I use Progressive Insurance, never had a claim with the vette but did with my wife's 2000 malibu and had no problem with them on the claim, had the car fixed and back in less then two weeks in perfect condition.

82dukman, nice to hear all is well with your family.

I have Haggerty never had a claim luckely so i don't know about that. They should be reliable they own Grundys which i wanted to use but they took way to long to get back to me Hagerty's was quick. One thing i don't know how much you drive your vet but they won't let you take to work or use as everyday driver. But you gotta have classic car insurance or your screwed if you ever get in an accident. I think they call it a stated value policy - you get what you say your car is worth ,you dont with regular ins. They like Grundys are cheep because classic car owners are very carefull with their cars. Most of your premium is for collision and theft liability only costs like 12$ to go from min.to 100k and so on 300k etc. any specific ques let me know them.

Vette(s): 1979 Black coupe. 11256 original, documented, miles on it when I bought it in April of 2000. It now has 13100 on it. Oyster interior, like new. Everything original, everything works, except the clock. Paint has a couple of minor flaws.
|QUOTE|82dukman said: Been thinking about Hagerty Insurance for the CE for a while now. Went online and got a price quote and couldn't believe how cheap it was. Does anybody have them? I would like some info about them, and their reliability, before I really decide to sign up. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks |wavey||/QUOTE|

I have Cincinnati Ins Co on my vette. $189 per year, $100 ded on collision, $50 on comp, $300,000 lai, unins. Drive anywhere, with 4000 miles per year limit. I never drive that far, so that doesn't matter. Insured for $15,000 guaranteed payoff.

Great ins co. Both of my kids have been rearended, sitting at stoplights, and the dingbat drivers that hit them had no insurance. Both times the other guy was hauled off in handcuffs. Didn't help me though, as I had $500 ded for their cars. Damage was over $2500 both times. Insurance co paid off great, with no increase in premiums.

Seems like a deadbeat driver would have to pay any deductable for the other guy before being let off the hook. In Illinois, there is supposed to be a $500 fine for driving without ins, but of course that goes to the state. They always get the first bite.....

I used to have State Farm, but the rates were too high, and kept going up. Went to Farmers ins, same thing. I have been with this co for 5 years, with hardly any increase in premiums.
I have a 2002 Trailblazer, which stickered out at over $35,000, and the rate on it is only $515 PER YEAR. The Ded for collision is $250 , and comp is $100 ded.

Tom,

I'm surprised to see that Condon & Skelley/Metropolitan quoted you $600. I have my policy with them & it's $216/year with $0 deductible & towing. Like your carrier, it's based on a mutually agreed upon value of the car -- mine is set at $25K. I was referred to them by my homeowners firm -- American Express Property Casualty so perhaps they offered me some other program? |headscratch| Oh well -- all these guys seem to care is that you keep your miles under 2,500/year and that your record is clean.
