I recently lived my dream and purchased a 1973 LS-4. She's an unrestored beauty but has a few difficulties, the worst being the headlights that do not open or close with the switch. Electrically the lights work properly and if I remove the vacuum line at the T between the actuators the light pop up and when I replace the line they close. any suggestions where my problem is and any fixes would be appreciated. thanks

I would say your best bet is to get an assembly manual and shop manual for that year. I have on for my 80 and it has paid for it's self in the info and repairs that I have made myself.
you might have a line on backwards.
Have you tried the headlight vacuum switch mounted at the bottom of your dash?
if you can get a hold of a diagram for the vacuum system , I'm sure you'll find the problem.

The assembly and shop manuals are good reference books to have, but the AIM I have for my '70 doesn't detail out the vacuum systems for the lights and wiper door very well. I bought a guide for trouble shooting the vacuum systems a year ago and that really detailed them out nicely, both in text and drawings. I don't remember where I bought it from but I've seen one in the Zip Products catalog. In fact they have a complete vacuum line kit that I'm most likley going to get and install this spring. Just can't get that darn wiper door to do its thing without a little help.
