I've had this problem for 2 years...since I brought her home. I've been busy fixing the needed things first, but would love a fix for this! Hope someone knows how to fix this. Thanks for posting it!

It came out of St Louie. Where did yours come out of?
I was thinking of painting it a different color when I first bought it but, after a week I decided if I get it repainted I will keep the same color, seems to give it a classy look. (I Think).

I had this problemo with my 74, and unfortunately I didn't end up fixing it because before I had the chance to, the headlight went up permanently. I haven't had the time to mess with the vacuum system yet, and I'm assuming it's just a actuator that needs to be rebuilt.
I think one of our new sponsors is VetteVacuum or something like that, I need to get a hold of that book.
I hope that's not your problem, that or you got one of those chicken Corvettes! Don't like high speeds or accelerating.
Good luck, and keep us posted if you find the cause

Could it be that it just saw a younger Vette going the other way and was trying to wink at it?
Seriously, buy the book from Vette Vacuum. Sounds like it might be of assistance to you in tracking this problem down. Since both headlights don't try to wink, I would put my money on the actuator being bad.

It could be the activator that light normally comes up last when I turn on the lights,I will check into the book but at the moment am strapped for cash after ordering the new carpet, door panels and seats this week. Do the lights come up due to a drop in vacuum or to a increase in vacuum when you turn them on, I was thinking about installing a vacuum check valve on the line but wasn't sure if it would work.
I am glad to hear that I am not the only one with this issue.
Thanks
