Topic: Help! Wheel lock Key Stripped
in Forum: C3 General Discussion
Did not know where to post this so I picked general.
The lock nut key the previous owner gave me with the car is stripped. I have a number on the key.
Where can I get a replacement key or how do I get the old lock nut off without a key?
Note that when the tires were put on the car they must have used that DAMN air tool with the torque set too high. I got the other nuts off but what a PITA.
Sorry, had to vent a little.
I need to get the wheels off because the calipers in the rear have started leaking.
Thank you!
Bill

Had the old style with a regular type key on my GTO years ago. Outer shell would spin when locked. Any one remember those stupid things? Had to break them off.

I cannot wait to see if it works. I am curious to see how well the sockets grips the chrome. I am gpoing to check with the local parts store. They carry a lot a specialty tools.
If we ever meet I owe you a beer.
Once I get it off they are going in the trash. The car never leaves my sight. No more lock lugs.
