My kids got me a weekend package for xmas and I was wondering if any of you had any tips or advice. I'm excited but also a little nervous. I dont want to beat up my vette but I also have to look good. My youngest son races a ducatti at the same track and he's pretty good....the kid, showing up the old man. I hate to think about it. Anyway, I'm sure it will be great. |cheers|

Vette(s): 1975 C3 Red, T-Tops, Black Interior. All I need is time and money! Getting there!
Listen to the advice of the pros there, and build up a little bit at a time. Don't try to max all at once. And have fun.

Is this a practice course for begainners? If so, don't sweat anything. Everyone gets nervous on there first time. Go out and meet all the drivers. You'll notice that some drivers are like you on the first day. At anytime your not comfortable stop and ask for help. The instructors are their for you. You do not have to BEATyour vette the first time out. Just get to know the vettes abilities. On your first lap, get to know the track. Don't go to fast and don't do to slow. Your out there with other racers. Remember yourself to look in all three mirrors. Your opponents need to pass you when they flash their lights. Give them room and move to your right when the time comes. Not when your going through a chican. Enjoy the course. It's not racing. Ask your son for help. He'll have some tips aswell. Congrats on your sons racing a Ducatti. And most of all ENJOY YOURSELF
When your out on the race course you'll get hot. You'll notice it in the begainning then after your concentrating driving, Allgone |biggrin|

HAVE FUN,
IRON 82 |smokin| |cheers|

Vette(s):
SOLD - "The Toy" - '70 Convertible
SOLD - "The Beast" - '90 ZR-1 (#682)
SOLD - "Betty" - '28 Ford Model A Tudor
SOLD - "BLKBRRD" - '78 Pontiac Trans Am
"BLUBYU" - '04 Coupe
I'd suggest going to a good karting track (one with the euro-style karts) to get the feel for reading a line before going out in the Vette ('follow' your son around a few times to see how he reads the course if necessary). That way you'll be able to maximize your time on the big course with the Vette.
