There must be some type of virus going around. Just finished installing my MSD 6A box and new plugs and the baby runs like never before (She smokes the tires even with the TH350 Auto she never did that before) So I went to pop the hood and you guessed it she wouldn't open. Found the fire wall plugs and got them out tried the old coat hanger trick, didn't work, after two hours of patience.  So some one tell me about this magic screw driver, is it bent or straight? I seen the mid America site and it look straight but how do you get it in with the windshield in the way? Oh yea I pulled the vac line to the brake booster loose with the coat hanger. And now it won't even start up could the brake booster vac line cause her not to start? I gave up for the night so didn't try to get under and reconect it and see if that was why she would start.

Ya gotta practice this manuver with the hood open and then with it closed, and,   practice some more.

The instr. are as plain as I can get em. I'm not the brightist light bulb around here.!!

And don't think that just because you buy a new friggin' cable that yer problems are solvedWits%20EndEvil%20Smile

I bought one from Mid America and it broke within 2 weeks.  Apparently, their manufacturer was making them too long and they would kink, then break.

If ya knew this, then why did ya sell it to me?!?!?!?!?

Yep, it's better to practice BEFORE the big event.

Isn't patience one of the seven deadly's?

Can't practice with the hood open, the cable is broke and the hood is closed.  Didn't get home until late last night.  I'll try the screw driver trick tonight.  The instrutions was to use the 12" screwdriver but would have to lift the hood 1/4 in. Don't know if mine will give that much but will let you know how it works out.  I've heard that after market cables aren't to good. The local chevy dealer sales the GM ones for $42.00 for the cross over cable and the whole set of hood cables for $8400, sounds like the extra money is cheaper.

I set your pic #2 to be my desktop so I could see where your cable runs.  It looks like you might (if you have small hands) be able to get hold of the crossover cable.  Most likely it hasn't broken off both latches and since it won't open, most likely it broke at the drivers side latch.

If you get the passenger side open, then you can get the leverage you need to use the magic screw driver to get the drivers side open.

Good Luck!
