Vette(s): 1982 C3 Collectors Edition 44000 miles, sat in the sun most of its life, My wife purchased it for me for Father's Day in 2007 from her girlfriend that had it for 19 years. It is on the road again. I'm retired but it is now my daily driver.
I'm interested in the vibration you will have with it being mounted to the frame. Also what type of camera you will be using I believe you will be testing the vibration limits of whatever you are using.
Looks interesting for a road trip wideangle shots
I'll be interested in seeing the results. A video on a nice curvy road will tell if you need some type of shock absorbing bracket between the car and the camera.

I would think a camera with image stabilization would be needed, but depending on the ride quality, that might not be sufficient. It will be interesting how this works out.

post us a video taken with your new mount.
The Camera that I am using is a Canon Powershot SX150IS. Its a still camera that also takes video. THe video is uploading now to youtube but I must run out while it does. When I return home I will post it. It is a little shakey but nothing to horrible, I really built it to critique myself autocrossing so the shaking isnt to big of a problem. I think a thicker ruber washer on the bottom will help as when I removed the mount the plastic bushing had pushed all the way through the rubber washer and was contacting the steel washer.

That is kewl. I would suspect you'll get more vibration/shakiness from the windshield header itself than the camera mount. I gotta see the vid now!!
