Simply look on the trim tag, just forward of the driver door, on the outside area of the dash. It will give the build date.
Later cars will also have the month/year on the decal attached to the rear of driver door..
The build date is coded. If you do a search here for "Trim Tag", you'll find several posts on the subject, and how to determine what the codes represent.

Well, now...Hol' on thar, Bobbaluey!
'78 production began in Sept, '77, so on your '78, the build date would be Sept. 19, 1977. Most year models began production in/around Aug/Sept, but not all...some started in October, or even May(for the BG built '81s). But, by far, most years began production in August.

True...a lot of folks assume that "A" means January, but it don't.
A19 on a '78 car would indeed be Sept 19, 1977.
Hope that doesn't ruin your "Happy Day", Melissa.

It's interesting to find out all the info on your "Baby."
I found out that mine was born a long time ago in 1968, so that makes the old girl an early '69.
