Well. according to my Odo...second one mind you as the original 140MPH speedo died (still have it for future rebuilding). The car had 97,000 when my wife purchased it as a birthday gift for me. the new odo says 74K...so lets see, I have been driving backwards for about 23K miles.....hmm....
In reality it has been about 2K per year on a good year. this last year wasn't so good and it only did about 500 - but it spent time getting new U joints, SS brakes, intake, 600CFM Holley, blueprinted distributor, chambered exhaust, KYB shocks....all of which really woke it up! the rest of my Corvette summer was running my 1986 Corvette in SCCA time trials and hillclimbs (3 events/3 wins).
Geez I love Corvettes.....any year, any type, any color....some are clearly more desirable than others, but the worst i have ever driven was magnificent.
C3: 1979 Corvette Coupe, Auto, L-48, Red/Doeskin (my wife's fave);
C4s: 1986 C4 coupe (SCCA road race car), satin black, 4+3, Z51 package, L-98; & 1993 C4 coupe, white, 6-speed, LT-1.

Purchased in 89 , 112K, put 50k on in 11 years...mostly with job moves! Paint and bumpers went while in storage..so sat for 12 years with periods of starting engine. Ins. Co. became a pain, asking for milage every six mos. I reported zero and then had to tell how many I expected to drive...finally I just wrote "Twenty Five miles"! I haven't heard back since.
76 is in the middle for a major restore, just not a total frame off...but near it! So, I hope to drive it 7K per year when finished this spring! Kept really close to orginal, with a few minor upgrades. All #'s are still matching...and engine did not need to be bored...just old fashion hone work and new pistons..could have left it allow for another 50K..but while it was open....(G)

Hey Dan, you missed a digit, yearly comes out to 8875 miles not 875 miles. I know we're all getting older so you are excused, LOL.

Whoa, sorry to hear of your injury, John. I'd drive you around if I lived near you.
I know of another trip you can make in your 69, Tom. How about to Colorado Springs in June. We are having our annual C3VR Gathering there from June 27-30 and it would be great if you join us there. Would be a good opportunity to see all of your C3VR pals and for us to see your beautiful 69. Hope to see you there.
