Not really. I'm not aware of any comprehensive list of survivors. Registries such as this may be helpful, but since they're strictly voluntary I would imagine any numbers would merely be by the SWAG method (Scientific Wild-Assed Guess). In otherwords, your guess is as good as anyones.
Big block Vettes in general, while a lot of them are still out there, will often be found with a different engine in them due to swaps way back when, blown during racing (street or otherwise), collisions, etc. Very often I've seen a Vette with a big-block hood that has a small block residing under it now.
I guess the question isn't simply how many big block Vettes are still rolling, but how many are rolling with the original engine in them.

I can almost guarantee there are more big-block cars out there now than Chevy EVER produced....

[/QUOTE] That and 69 Z/28's!!!

I'm not sure you can even get a count of how many 1968 BB Verts were produced.
The Little Black Book will tell you how many verts were sold and how many BB were sold, but not how many verts had a BB. Bummer.

I've got mine and the paper to prove it, but that's only one car. The only way we'll ever know would be for the general to cough up the records. That won't happen, there's way too many fake cars out and the big brokers would be very embarrased.

THERE IS AN ELDERLY GENTLEMAN IN MY NEIGHBORHOOD THAT HAS A 68 COUPE, 427-435, 100 PERCENT ORIGINAL, WITH 22 THOUSAND MILES ON IT, hE IS THE ONLY OWNER AND DRIVER OF THIS CAR,, HE WILL NOT PART WITH IT,, HE IS IN HIS 80'S, AND SAYS HE WILL KEEP IT TILL HIS DAY COMES. IT IS GREEN IN COLOR WHICH MAKES IT EVEN MORE RARE,,RD
