So, while roaming around Carlisle today I happened to notice that I did not see ANY other C3's that had the T-Top holders or the mounting holes for them on the back deck.  I was wondering if anyone might know how rare an option this is?  Ours has it and the car is bone stock. I don't think they have ever been used as they are still in plastic with the directions on how to install and use them.  We saw plenty of cars with luggage racks, but no T-Top holders.  Do I have a rarity and don't know it???

It breaks down like this:
3,755 in '80
3,303 in '81
1,992 in '82

So, it was more "rare" in '82. Even so, there are not many out there, either on the cars, or in bags/boxes.

Thanks for the info. One more piece of the puzzle solved.  Not ultra rare but still pretty cool!!

At the risk of sounding really NEW, what is the difference between the 2? My 82 has neither, but has tie downs in the cargo area I assume are for the tops.

The '78> cars had the large back glass, so there was really no place to install a luggage rack like the earlier cars. The solution was to design a device that would simply hold the t-tops(only-no luggage) to the rear body. Someone here prolly has a pic of the set-up. The t-top holder could be installed/removed at will, but you were left with the holes in the bodywork for the mounts.
