Well, now let me tell you. Everything she does, she does very slow. Talk, walk, eat, dress, even moving. My wife and I didnt understand how such a smart girl could be so slow at everything. Yes, even for a blonde she made the honor roll every semester. We had to buy her extra shoulder pads for her dresses. you know duh, with her head bouncing side to side as only blondes can do. Just kidding. It was just her very very slow mannerizms. A blonde thing?

You people out there with a build sheet (lucky) if you someone in a crime lab you may be able to get then to bring out the info that is faded. Anyone with a a copy of a build sheet for a 1980 I would love a copy, you can e-mail me here or at my home e-mail.

Thanks Glenn

PS
Hey guys lay off the blonds, my daugther is a blond , well kinda (dirty blond) and is getting married this weekend (missing my little girl already). As she said she's not dumb, well not all dumb, because she is only partly blond!

PPS
She went on to prove this by graduating suma from college!

hey Glenn, you do know that you can order build sheets for your car if it was built in Bowling green, right? You just have to go to the NCM website. They have all of the dteails there, all you need is your VIN

Thanks for the info, but from what I can tell they diden't start building cars in KY until 81, everything built in St Louis appears to have disapeared with the factory. I have read several articles where the writters have been given permission from GM to search theri records, and they were all the same all records went away with the factory. Their guess is that they are in a landfill somewhere in MO.

Hey by the way love the name of your town! Not sure where Easton, PA is but if you not too far from Eastern MD maybe I'll see you in Ocean City in Sept. The drive down the boardwalk is something to see. Last year it was over 2 hours of plastic rumbleing down the boards!

Thanks Glenn

PS
Corrected the date from 84 to 81.

I'm about 70 miles north of Philly. Not sure about OC in Spet. Wife is due with #2 in three weeks, so my "solo" time will be limited.
i know you can't get them for the St Louis plant, but you could shoot them an email and see what they tell you. Can't hurt

Production in Bowling Green started sometime in '81 with production beginning to be phased out in St. Louis. Check it out on the General Stats for Model Year 1981 (https://www.c3vr.com/C3Stats/default.asp?ModelYear=1981).

It would have to have been before August. Destiny was born in August. At the end, give or take a day or two!

Debbie? Do you know?

Vette(s): 1979 Black coupe. 11256 original, documented, miles on it when I bought it in April of 2000. It now has 13100 on it. Oyster interior, like new. Everything original, everything works, except the clock. Paint has a couple of minor flaws.
The 81 models built in St Louis have the last 7 digits of the vin no: S400001 to S431611.
The last 7 digits of Bowling Green vettes were 5100002 to 5108995.

S letter vin's were StLouis, 5 no. vin's were Bowling Green cars

The 1981 Corvette was the first Corvette to be built simultaneously in two locations. The first Corvette rolled off the assembly line at the new Bowling Green, KY plant on June 1, 1981 and the last Corvette to be built at the St. Louis, MO plant rolled off the line August 1, 1981. The 1981 Corvette was also the last model to have a manual transmission available until late in the 1984 production year. Until it's last car, the St. Louis plant continued to use lacquer paints, while the new Bowling Green plant used a new paint process which used enamel base coats followed by clear top coats.

This info was taken off of the Idavette web page.
