Monday afternoon,I got taken out by a 17 y.o. driver,who hit me in a head-on collision doing around 50 mph.Cant believe I'm still here,as I had unbuckled my seat belt about 3 miles back to reach for something.I was strapped to a backboard and neckbrace for 5 hrs while they determined if my neck and back were broke.I'm taking some pretty potent pain pills so I can function in somewhat of a haze.Anyway,let this be a lesson to have you Vette insured for what its worth,cuz I procastinated about doing that mostly cuz I'm unemployed at the moment.Wish me luck so I'm able to buy another C3 after I heal up |sad|

Thank God You're going to be OK. God only knows if your future holds another Vette, but I do feel that God kept you alive for a reason. I would focus on that and if another Vette is in the future it's a BONUS!.Just because you munched your C3, it doesn't mean you can't stay in touch with this great C3VR Group. Terry

sorry to hear about your accident. glad your ok. I can commizerate with you. I was rear ended in my 79 about three weeks ago. not nearly as serious as yours.
everyone's right, your health is more important than your car. it can be replaced. get well quick. keep us posted. these guys are great at keeping your spirits up.

Hey John,

I am really sorry about your accident. I hope that you recover ASAP! If necessary, find a good lawyer and go after the kid (and his parents, and his insurance company).

When I owned my '76 a lady in an SUV backed into the passenger side of my car while I was waiting to leave a parking lot. She and her husband paid out of their pocket (beyond the insurance settlement) to get the car fixed right. They felt really bad about hurting such a nice car.

Hopefully your 17 yr. old's family will do the right thing as well.

John, sorry to hear about your crash. Hope you feel better soon. Remember as much as we love our cars they are still just cars and they do us no good if we are dead or crippled. Get your health back, if you want to you WILL get another Vette.

Sorry to hear about your accident. The Vette can be replaced, but your life is a once only deal. Heal up soon, and then you can find another Vette.

Thanks for all the support guys.I guess Adam named my thread.Its not "I got in an accident"..Its "Iwashitheadon" I was an unwilling participant.After years of being in the Marines,Naval Reserves,Dept of Defense military police/guard training with a police driver course,I was taken out by a 17 y.o. girl kamikaze.It just shows you,you never know when,where,& how it will happen to you. |eek|
