The check is in the mail (so to speak). I should have the part in the next two weeks or so. I'll take it over and lay it on for a photo op if the painter'll let me in!
We're fittin' the hood tonight!!! I'll post pics on the thread about her paint when I get 'em.

HMMMM....260 bucks for "ugly"....
I gotta get into this after market business !!
Just kidd-in around Dennis.
I have seen them before on both the pre78 C3's and the 78 to 82 cars. The latter has to be attached by ""DRILLING"" and when you take mr. ugly off, thars sum BIG holes in yar deck....yikes.
The pre 78's that have permanently mounted luggage racks are my favorite. The rack fits nicely between the...uh..uh..them things that sweep back from the back window.....maybe ya call em "wings"?
When one straps the tops to the rack they also sit nicely between the ..uh.."wings" !....So
If I had a 68 to 77 coupe ,I would definately have this set-up because when the tops are off and strapped to the rack, I personally think this arrangment looks "Roadster-Style"..... That being said...
I have a 78 S.A. and would not even think about one of these. To each his own; i'm sure there are lots of folks who thinks this set-up looks great 0n the bubble glassers.
good luck and keep smiling......Rich
Ahhh...Sooo.
Now the old dude is up to speed.
Of course you wanted to complete it. I would have done so too.
Your car is dark, it will look good with it.
I saw a blk 80 with the tops strapped on the back and they looked like they belonged. Then I saw a beige 81 with them on the back and they looked like a huge hickie on the back.
Auto mfgs. go to great lengths and spend millions getting the right color with the right car.
Be sure to post pic's when you get your new hardware installed.
P.S. I just noticed your car is blk. You'll like your purchase.

Hello Jerry...
As soon as I get done typing this i'll get your M.O. and mail it north.
You have one fine 80 there....love the wheels. I'll bet your front yard isn't that nice and green at present. Our weatherman here in mid-Missouri says we should feel lucky, that there is snow from the Iowa/MO border all the way to the north pole. We've had a couple of 50/60 degree days.
Hang in there, it's coming......Rich
Sorry all.....I think I just trampled on the subject matter.

Tux, that's for the regular, flat deck luggage racks. The luggage racks have to have the little "pins" on the sides for this one to hold the tops on. But it still might be a good deal, depending on what the actual "reserve" is. These were options in 76-77, I think.
