John;
Great Ride!!!!!!!! Congrats!!!!!!!!!
I put sidepipes on my '80 and before we got the covers on, the wife and I went on a foliage tour. She burned the backs of her legs (twice on one leg, once on the other)
during the first stop, couldn't get away from them and fell backwards into them

. She was a real trooper and wanted to finish the tour
. She still loves the vette but has the scars from her to prove it
.
These guys are right, you and any passenger step way out and whatever you do, DON'T put your hand down on the sill to lever out, that hurts too! This isn't to scare you, just to impress on you the importance of stepping away. You can get hurt bad in less than one second when those babies heat up.
I will tell you that they are WELL WORTH IT!!!!! The look and sound is like no other.
