Henry,
Wow - another '71 coupe from CT. Welcome! I have a few books that can help you decipher build numbers and engine codes. Where did you get the car? Prior owner have any records? What size engine is in the car? In the driver's door jam, what are the paint and trim codes? I'll be happy to help as I can -- although I'm far from being an expert!

Vette(s): 1979 Black coupe. 11256 original, documented, miles on it when I bought it in April of 2000. It now has 13100 on it. Oyster interior, like new. Everything original, everything works, except the clock. Paint has a couple of minor flaws.
|QUOTE|pozz33 said: I have a 1971 coupe and no information on the car . The tank was replaced I dont know were the build sheet went. I cant find out who the dealer was that sold the car. Is there a service that could help at some fee.

I think you are out of luck. All of the records mysteriously disappeared from St Louis, and nobody knows where they went.
There might be another way to get the build sheet. Mine was stuffed inside the frame back by the trailing arms on the rear suspension. It isn't perfect, but it can be read about 75%. Also some people find copies under the dash, in different locations, also under the carpeting in the back. You might find it anywhere. Just keep looking. Good Luck with the needle in the haystack!
By the way, Henry, welcome to c3vr!!

Vette(s): 1979, 350sb, as my kids affectionately call it "shit brown" Corvette purchased in 1996. 84,000+ miles. Not a show car, but I love her just the same.
Henry:
I just asked pretty much the same question from GM's Customer Assistance Center on line and they gave me the following information:
Contact GM Vintage @ (905) 644-5483 Tele or (905) 644-5436 Fax - they may be able to supply "build sheet". (There is a charge for this.)
Also, offered Faxon @ (800) 458-2734
I'm pretty sure you're going to have to provide the VIN at least. I haven't contacted either of these as I just got the response this morning, but if you contact them before I do, let us know what you come up with.
Good drivin,
Mark Romanowski

Mark good luck. If you get a build sheet it would be the first one I have ever heard of any one getting one. You can only get build sheets on the cars produced in Bowling Green.
