Well, I rolled into my garage at around 3:00 yesterday afternoon. The drive was great, and the car performed beautifully. It is VERY loud, as Matt (After Stark) can testify to, but with the windows up it was bearable. A drive like this is not for the faint hearted...manual steering, manual brakes and a clutch really beats you up after a while. I only had rain for the first four and last two hours of the drive...nothing but clear skies through most of the US.
The NCM is a great facility...I've wanted to go ever since it opened. Matt at Holley is a great guy and it was very cool seeing how those parts we've all seen are actually manufactured.
I took a ton of pics and will get them up for everyone to see later on. For now, here's a couple I took at the museum.
Say WHAT...!?!?!
Me thinks a few speed laws got bent a bit.
Glad to hear all went well. Too bad you couldn't get to the Assembly Plant as well.
Believe it or not Jim, absolutely none. The car has a very steep rear gear in it so anything over 70-75 MPH and it was spinning 3500+ RPM...WAY too much noise with the side pipes and racing baffles
. I did a couple of very long days to cover a lot of ground so I could get back by yesterday.

Glad you made it without any problems. I love driving my 73 down to the NCM and back. It’s about a 9-hour drive each way for me and last year I got a "thank you for visiting Ky certificate" from a Ky State Troopers, opps.

Good to hear from you and that all is safe.
I can relate on the sidepipes, but you just gotta love 'em though. What you did has got to be a great experience, I am envious
Looking forward to seeing the pictures. That shot behind the NCM is very fresh in my mind.

Glad everything went well for you. Sounds like a great trip.
Thanks for taking the picture of my brick. I told you it would be easy to find.
Now we need to get other members to buy their brick in time for C3 Extravaganza in Oct.

I know that after a long trip in a Corvette you can't wait to get out of it, but after you rest up a bit tell us how you like the car.
Sounds like you have the same gears I do.

I love it. As sore as I am, I still spent the entire day cleaning it. Wouldn't trade this experience for anything.
