After a long, and I mean long, time of wanting, and then a long time of window shopping,(that’s what you do when you don’t have enough money yet), a few trips to Corvettes at Carlisle to drool, and I don’t know how many visits to C3VR forums since Feb. 15. I finally decided it was time to look with the intention of buying. My wife and I decided how much we where willing to spend on what she calls a “Toy” car. Of course we ended up spending more. There have been lots of disappointments along the way as I’m sure many of you can attest to when looking for the right car. I’ve heard “Oh it’s in great shape, everything works” only to get there and hear “Sorry, we can’t take her for a ride, the brakes ain’t working”. Another good one- “$4000.00+ professional paint job” By who? The guy that painted your house or the kid that mows your lawn. And then “Sorry, that one went fast” or “You didn’t get here quick enough”.
Well, today, my boat came in and she’s a beauty. This past week from a local ad I found a beautiful 78 Silver Anniversary L82 4speed with red leather and low miles. 29 years old and near mint! If I could have gone down to the Chevy dealer and ordered one, I could not have done any better.
I know 78's may not do much for some of the earlier C3 BB guys, but I just had to tell the world and I can’t think of a better place to start then right here on the C3VR forums.
Also, as a note of encouragement, the gems are still out there hidden away. I’ve had a lot of discouraging days looking at sad cars, watching stuff that’s 2000 miles away on ebay and other sites that I couldn’t possibly do anything about. And then, almost in my backyard, I Hit The Jackpot!

It was snowing today and car stayed in the garage, so no good pictures yet. We didn't even take her out. When the cover came off and I saw the paperwork the owner had going back to day one, I knew I had to have that car no matter what.
WOOOOOHOOOOO!!!!!!
