Ok,
I finally possess a 1969 Coupe but in it's past lives it has been changed twice. Upon pulling her apart I have found out it use to have green interior, and with a little sanding on the body I found that it was a Fathom Green Vette. The trim tag does not match up though. And the tank sticker is gone. I do not know alot about corvettes and I need help trying to trace my vettes origins. I ran the vin but it gives very little info. Is there another way to find out about her? Any help in this matter would be greatly appreciated.

With out the build sheet it is very hard to find out what the car was built with. You can brake the VIN down for body type, engine and production sequence number. You can also look for the build sheet under the carpet or under the seat cover. Other than that you can only guess.

The trim tag will have the original exterior and interior
colors, as well as the approximate build date of the car. Check out the
Corvette
Build Date info under the "Research" button at the tops of
the pages for info on the trim tag, and a couple of examples. There is also more info in the "Corvette Statistics" area under the Research button.
The '69 VIN plate will only tell you it had a V8 engine, so that, in itself, isn't gonna help much.

To answer the question about the trim tag; first it has Chevrolet at the top not body by Fischer, second it has a trim number of 427, Paint is 983, and then to the right of the chevrolet name is a code of B23. as I stated I have gutted the interior ans it had been dyed at one time. The base color of everything is green i.e. carpet, all trim pieces door panels were even painted. Thats why I think the trim tag had been changed. As I stated though I dont know alot about vettes so I could be wrong about the trim tag. But the interior was originally green.

Vette(s): 1979, Targa Blue (72 Color), Pace Car rear spoiler, L88 hood, Dark blue factory interior, 525HP 406, HD 700R4, 370 gears,Steeroids, composite rear spring, TT IIs wrapped in T/A Radials.
Your trim tag according to a very good Corvette history site that I like shows paint code (983) British Green - your interior code (427) is Green Vinyl. Strange though, if you look at the top of the page, it lists Fathom Green and there is no listing of a Green interior color - I found another site that called for Gunmetal Gray by your interior code...
