The B23 code on your trim tag is the build date. In '69 the B=September and 23 means 23rd day of the month. Since it's September it was built in '68. So your car is a 1969 built on Sept. 23 of '68. I also checked the paint and interior color codes and what you have been told above is what I also came up with.
That being said, if you feel your trim tag is incorrect, you could look at your VIN tag. It should be an early production number to jive with you trim tag build date. The 69 production began in August and the last VIN to be built in Aug was 700406, Sept last VIN built was 703041, Oct last VIN built was 706272. There is a TON of info like this in the 1969 Stingray Guidebook by Rick Bizzoco. The book is getting hard to find and is expensive. On page 2 of the book it says B23 time built and serial number is 702510. If I can help you further feel free to contact me.

Another thought.... is there a data sticker on the driver side door near the latch? If so, on the upper right corner there is a build date code on there also.
*As far as the tank sticker, most do not have theirs..... some are found under the seats, carpet, inside the dash behind gauges, others find theirs above the metal panel above the gas tank (certain years).

So your trim tag matches what you found under the current colors. If it was a factory A/C car, the opening in the firewall is much deeper., it does not have a driver's side vent, and the right side vent is vacuum operated.
As mentioned above, they sometimes put an additional build sheet under the carpet, tucked up into the seat bottom, or behind the speedo or tach.
If you don't find one, you can build how you think they should have, and it will be right.
Have fun

I really appreciate all the insight. I pretty much have come to the conclusion It will never be sold as an original since I dont have the engine or tranny. So with that said she is going to be Fathom Green with Saddle Interior, and I am sticking with the 350 and Muncie four speed.
