I'd like to know who you guys are insured with asap! I recently got my replacement vette-a '79.My present insurance co.refuses to upgrade my premium for what the NADA guide online says its worth(American Collectors). They say they will only insure it for what I paid for it(I mistakenly told them-$9000).The NADA says its worth around,in the average catagory, around $17,900,& I wanted coverage to $15,000. I recently got quotes online using Grundys and Hagertys quote engines.Grundy was $218,Hagertys-$278.With Grundys I tried adding my '78 Cutlass for $5000,and they were $253!Any other places to check would be greatly appreciated! Guess I wont be able to do much in person, possibly, due to the New Year celebrations.

Jon, I'm with Haggerty's through an agent in Edmonds, WA, Tripple, Tripple & Tripple. The rate they are quoting you sounds higher than it should be as if I remember correctly, its about $150 for my vette, but I also have three cars on the policy.

Vette(s): 1975 C3 Red, T-Tops, Black Interior. All I need is time and money! Getting there!
I have my insurance at GEICO. With the Vette as a third car, the storage insurance (full coverage, not driven)with $0 deductable is only $9. for six months. When I put full coverage on for driving it will be an additional $120. for six months. They will pay based on book value. If the car is worth more they can make arrangement to cover a declared value.
My license is clean for over 10 years, my wife forever. That helps.

That might be a good choice, because around here we only get about 3 months of really decent vette weather. |saluteflag|

Vette(s): 1979, 350sb, as my kids affectionately call it "shit brown" Corvette purchased in 1996. 84,000+ miles. Not a show car, but I love her just the same.
I am also insured through Hagerty's. The only downfall is the limited mileage (5000/year), but it doesn't phaze me. American Collectors is okay, and Grundy's I think offers a policy with unlimited mileage. Stick with the companies that will offer you an agreed value, with no deductible, and an annual rate. Far as I'm concerned it's ridiculous to pay insurance twice a year!

Hang in there. Go out and search the web for "collector car insurance" and you will get enough hits to keep you busy for hours. I especially liked Hagerty's because of their online claim filing, and the Hagerty Protection Network!

I cut my bill by 66% switching from my normal carrier (Farmer's) to Hagerty, and got the convenience of only paying once a year. Remember, because you are looking for a higher end agreed value you are going to pay more than us who have "average" Vettes.

Can't wait to see pics of your "new" '79!
